Abstract

288,418. Standaloft, J. H. March 2, 1927. Self-sustaining gear. -Comprises a combination and arrangement of parts forming a single-sheave selfsustaining pulley-block. Ratchet teeth 7<a>, formed integral with the sheave and located in a recess on one side thereof, are engaged by a pawl 8 mounted on the framing and influenced by two springs, one of which 10 acts on the nose and the other 9 on the tail-piece of the pawl as shown, while the periphery of the sheave is furnished with a V-shaped groove adapted to grip and hold the haulage rope when released by the operator.
