Abstract

363,422. Wire ropes. STOTHERT & PITT, Ltd., Newark Works, and EVANS, E., 2, Abbey View, both in Bath. Sept. 24, 1930, No. 28631. [Class 109.] To allow the connection between a rope and a chain to pass readily round a sheave, a series of beads 4 .. 7 of gradually increasing diameter are provided upon the rope end. A spring 8 is preferably interposed between the largest bead 4 and the thimble 3. The end of the rope is secured 'to a socket 10 which is mounted in the thimbie 3 so as to be capable of rotational and universal movement.
