Reversing-gearing. - A reversing motion for use in oscillating carbonizing drums comprises a toothed driving-wheel a with a pin b adapted to co-operate with a projection c on a sliding rail d which is connected by links e, f, i, and bell-crank levers g, h, with a second sliding rail i carrying the belt forks k of driving pulleys l. The wheel a is actuated by gear-wheels a<1>, a<2>, a<3>, the latter of which is mounted on the pulley shaft. A lever m carrying a weight n is connected to the rail j to hold the parts in either extreme position.
