Tension arrangements.- In tensioning-means for chains and the like, a rigid curved arm 1 lies pivoted upon a pin 3 on a frame member 4 and is pressed into engagement with the chain by a spring, such as a torsion spring surrounding the pin 3, or by a spring- actuated lever 6 such as is described in Specification 323,697. The curvature of the arm 1 is greater towards its free end, so that. as the chain stretches, the curvature will correspond substantially with the natural curvature of the chain. A tensioning-arm may engage each run of the chain.
