219,549. Golby, F. W., (Grand Specialtics Co.). Oct. 29, 1923. Clamps, eccentric.-A 'pivotallv mounted arm. 9 which serves as a strut or holder for a swinging door or window when it is turned down into engagement with the floor or other stationary surface is formed with a metallic frame 13 that serves as a shoe member, the bottom of the shoe being a pad of vulcanized rubber 20 and the remaining surface of the frame also being covered with rubber 23. The frame 13 is formed of sheet metal parts 15 shaped as shown in Fig. 4, the arms being clamped together and to the strut 9 by a screwed pin 16. The vulcanized pad extends around and between the members 15 and has transverse teeth 21 and a lower surface that curves slightly in the direction in which the shoe swings. Lateral lugs 17 are provided for lifting the shoe into the inoperative position. The shoe has a slight pivotal movement about the pin 16. The arm 9 is pivoted to a bracket 2 screwed to the door, and engages between the arms 11 of a clip device when in the raised position. The device may be used on the inside of a door to hold the door in the closed position.
