Abstract

248,646. Linde, C. van de. Aug. 25, 1925. Sliding window opening and closing apparatus.-The top sash 1 of a window is manipulated by a rod 2 universally pivoted to the sash and provided at suitable points with spaced collars 8, 9 adapted to fix the rod in a forked bracket 7 attached to the lower sash. The rod 2 is connected to an eve 4 bv means of a hook 3 having a restricted opening which may be passed over a reduced part of the eye in the horizontal position. A ball and socket or other suitable connection may be used between the rod and sash. In narrow sashes or when the lower sash has a central sash-bar, a single operating rod may be used.
