196,827. Lang, A. May 17, 1922. Door-holders. - A spring-pressed catch 1 mounted pivotally on a bracket 2 fixed to the wall 3 is arranged to engage with a metallic ring 9 secured in the hollow knob 10 of the door-handle to retain the door in its open position. To release the door, the handle is turned, bringing a chamfered part of the ring 9 opposite the catch so that a pull upon the door causes the catch to be raised and pass out of the knob. In a modification, the catch is arranged upon an arm pivoted to the wall or door-post so as to retain the door in a partially-open position; this arm may be telescopic so that the position may be varied.
