Abstract
484,446. Baths. DIXON & SON, Ltd., S., and GIRDLER, A. L. Sept. 11, 1937, No. 24804. [Class 26] A handle for the side of a bath is in the form of a pivoted arm adapted to occupy either a position parallel to and overlying the top of the side or a vertical position to afford a purchase for raising oneself in the bath. The curved handle 1, which is corrugated at 1x, is pivoted by a pin 2 to a bracket 4, secured by a screw 6 and nut to the roll edge of the bath. Projections 9 on the handle engage stops 10 on the bracket, and limit the movement of the handle between an approximately vertical position and a horizontal position out of contact with the edge of the bath. Alternatively the handle may be pivoted between lugs integral with the edge of the balls,'and the fore end of the handle or the edge of the bath may be provided with a rubber or like buffer. A similar handle may be provided on the other edge of the bath. In the Provisional Specification it is stated that the handle may be carried by a member clamped by thumbscrews to the edge of the bath, which need not be drilled.
