Abstract

191,975. Vogel, C. H. Feb. 14, 1922. Steps.-A vehicle step 2 which is lowered by spring means into an operative position when the vehicle door is opened, is raised to an inoperative position by a lever 6<1> secured to the door and connected to the step by a flexible member 7 when the door is closed. The step 2, which comprises a tread 4 and a riser 5, is hinged at 3 to the vehicle and a spring 6 tends to keep the tread 4 in its horizontal operative position. When the door is opened, the lever 6<1> moves towards pulleys 8 around which the flexible member 7 passes and allows the spring 6 to lower the step. On closing the door, the step is pulled back to the position shown against the action of the spring.
