Abstract

Pulverulent-fuel furnaces; ashes, removing; steam, supplying.-In a boiler furnace fired with pulverulent fuel, the combustion chamber 1 is provided with a sloping floor cooled by water tubes 9 forming part of the water circulation system of the boiler 2 and exposed to the radiant heat of the furnace. Ashes may be allowed to accumulate on the tubes or may be removed by means of steam jets 11 through an ash-discharge gate. The tubes may be covered by plates 10. Fuel is supplied through burners 3 or 8 and air and steam are admitted to the combustion chamber through orifices 4, 4<a> and 6, 6<b> respectively.
