Abstract

229,753. MeGeoch, W. Nov. 28, 1923. Securing globes to holders.-In an electric lamp fitting in which a ring 5 at the upper end of the globe guard 6 screws into the globe-holder 1 and grips the flange 8 of the globe 3 together with a rubber washer 4 between it and the holder, the guard is retained in position by a screw-threaded rod 19 adapted to be rotated about its longitudinal axis to move in a radial direction so as to engage with the underside of the ring 5. The rod 19 is rotated by means of a key engaging a flat-sided end 21 of the rod, the central portion of which is screw-threaded to engage a nut 20 screwed into a cylindrical casing 18 on the side of the holder 1.
