Abstract

243,828. Trafford, A. Sept. 11 1924. Vehicle lamps; lanterns, glazing; mounting electric lamps in lanterns.-In an electric spotlight for motor-vehicles having, within its casing 6. a drum 11 adapted to receive an extensible electric cable 12 enabling the lamp to be detached from its support 33 for use in other positions, the lampholder 28 is provided with a flange 28a engaging a tubular part 11<a> of the drum and an extension 27 fitting slidably in a tubular spindle 15 and having a reduced end 27a, preferably square in cross-section, which passes through a bush 15<a>. The end 27a is formed with mutilated sections of screw-threads for receiving 4a nut 30, by which, in conjunction with a spring 27, the lamp 8 is focused. The lens 9 is secured in the end of the casing 6 by a flanged ring 6a, preferably in the manner described in Specification 179,377, [Class 122 (iii), Steam-engines, Kinds &c.].
