Abstract
260,723. Butlers, Ltd., and Reeves, A. Sept. 17, 1925. Vehicle and like lamps; mounting electric lamps in lanterns; l a n t e r n doors and door fittings. The bulbholder of an automobile side lamp &c. is slidably secured in a cylindrical screw-operated clamp g carried by extensions l on the cover piece d which is provided with a coloured glass e. The cover is secured by passing resilient radial projections p on a flange on the cover piece through gaps in the flange of a socket in the lamp body and by turning the cover so that indented parts of the projections engage in narrower gaps in the flange and the projections p come against stops. The internal surface of the ellipsoidal lamp body is provided with a white paper lining. The Provisional Specification also states that the clamp for carrying the bulb holder is carried by an annular holder clamped by a screw plug or cap against an internal flange or an internally-threaded socket at the rear of the lamp. The plug or cap has an axial bore and is provided with a coloured lens at its outer end.
