Mounting electric lamps in lanterns. - In a vehicle lamp in which the lamp bulb is adjusted longitudinally in and out of a tube secured in the centre of the reflector and is locked in the adjusted position, the lamp carrying tube 5 is provided with one or more inclines, cams or an eccentric 7 and the stationary tube 2 has a part 8 of its internal surface correspondingly shaped, the tube 5 being mainly cylindrical and slidably mounted in the main cylindrical part of the tube 2. To lock the tube 5 in position, the tube is turned and is locked by the engagement of the eccentric &c. 7 with the part 8 of the tube 2. The part 15 of the tube 5 is reduced in diameter and is provided with a flange 9 by which it is turned. A removable cover 10 is provided in the casing 6 to allow access to the flange 9 or the tube 5 itself projects through an opening in the casing 6 or the tube is provided with a cup-shaped member to which is secured a sleeve projecting through an opening in the casing.
