Abstract

Vehicular lanterns.-In a vehicular headlight of the type in which the electric lamp bulb can be removed without opening the lantern front, thelamp bulb is carried by an element forming the central part of the lamp reflector. Fig. 1 shows a headlight in which a screwed sleeve P on the rear of the reflector engages a sleeve 0 on the lantern casing and in which the front glass is fixed to the casing A by a ring B so as to form a tight joint. The electric lamp bulb is secured to the detachable central part E of the reflector by means of spring catches K engaging holes in the lamp- 'holder. The part E is slidably mounted in the sleeve P and is held in position against the remaining part of the reflector by a spring H fixed to a cover F, which is secured to the back of the casing by a bayonet-joint fastening or otherwise. The spring H forces a contact-making head-piece M against the terminal wires on the electric lamp bulb.
