Globe - holders; guards and protectors. -In an electric lamp fitting in which a ring d<2> at the upper end of the globe guard d screws into the globe-holder and grips the flange e<2> of the globe together with the packing-ring f between it and the holder, the guard is retained in position by a key-operated locking-screw c engaging a plain annular groove d' or surface provided in the threaded part of the guard, the locking-screw c being prevented from being entirely detached from the holder. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the screw-threaded plug part c of the locking- screw is screwed into a tubular piece h internally threaded for a portion of its length from the inner end and the piece is subsequently fixed by pinning it in a socket on the holder, the socket having a shoulder at its inner end.
