Abstract

100,525. McLachlan, R. W. Jan. 18, 1916. Globe and shade holders.-Relates to shade or globe holders for gas or electric lamps, of the type comprising a gallery and a member movable circumferentially around the gallery in order to grip or to free the shade or globe. The gripping-member, which in the form shown is a resilient wire ring C, is exterior to the gallery and has flat portions C<2>, C<3>, C<4> which project through slots A<1> in the gallery to grip the neck of the globe. On turning the ring C by means of a finger-piece C' on the ring and a thumb-piece A<2> on the gallery, the flat portions C<2>, C<3>, C<4> ride over the grooved parts F of the gallery and release the globe. One end of the ring C is provided with an eye C<5> through which the other end slides freely, the expansion and contraction of the ring being limited by nuts D, D<1>.
