Abstract
568,407. Electric inspection lamps. GIBBS, H. Dec. 19, 1943, No. 21286. [Classes 75 (ii) and 75 (iv)] An electric inspection lamp comprises a flanged bulb socket f secured by a screwed sleeve h against a cylindrical member g in a handle a of rubber or other resilient insulating material, the member g having diametrically opposite internal grooves g<1> to receive projecting lugs on the socket f and apertures g2 to receive internal projections a<1> on the body a to prevent relative rotation between the socket f and body a. The supply cable b attached to the socket is clamped to the bottom of the handle a by a metal clip c and passes through a washer d and metal* bridges e which engage recesses in the handle a, rotation of the cable in the handle and the transmission of tension on the cable to the socket f being thereby prevented. A guard k screws on the outside of the upper part of the handle and holds a lamp glass i in position, a rubber shock absorber l being arranged between the guard and glass.
