Telescopic tables.-A table with a central frame rigidly secured to the legs has a top with two end portions which can be slid outwards to expose loose leaves resting thereunder and adapted to be raised automatically into position level with and between the end portions of the top. When the table top end 1 or 2 is withdrawn, stops 12 on slide bars 6, 7 on these ends abut against a projection 13 on a slide member 14. On the fixed central frame 5 are pivoted at 16 parallel links 15 connected at one end to the slide 14 and at the other to longitudinal bars 17 on the lower side of the loose leaves 3, 4. A spring catch 19 on a spring arm 18 attached to the loose leaf 1 may engage in a recess 20 in the table top to cause the loose leaf to be locked in its raised position by a slight inward movement of the end. Guide-pins on the lower surface of the loose leaf move in a vertical plane in grooves in the central frame. According to the Provisional Speuification, the parallel links may be provided with pin and slot connection to the frame.
