Abstract

498,558. Extensible tables; dinner wagons. MARSHALL CABINET CO., Ltd., and MARSHALL, H. Jan. 11, 1938, No. 808. [Class 52 (iii)] Relates to tables, dinner wagons, and the like, of the kind having a top consisting of two leaves hinged together and slidably guided on a supporting frame, so that when both leaves rest on the frame they are held in alignment, but when the top is moved until one leaf is clear of the frame it can hang down, stops being provided to limit the sliding movement of the top in both directions. According to the invention, the upper part of the frame has longitudinal side bars 4, in the inner faces of which are grooves 5 within which are adapted to .engage and the opposite plain edges of the leaves 7, 8, the leaves being hinged together at 9 ; stops 12 are provided on the under side of one of the leaves, to limit movement of the top by engaging with transverse members 6 of the frame. The Figures show the alternative positions of the top of the table.
