497,433. Extending tables. EARNSHAW, J. C., BOOTH, W., and SHARROCKS, J. W., (trading as EARNSHAW BROS. & BOOTH). June 22, 1937, Nos. 17327 and 19701. [Class 52 (iii)] In an extending table of the kind comprising two pairs of hinged leaves A, A<1>, B, B<1> mounted on sliding battens C, D, each pair of battens slides between two guide rails E, and the inner end of each batten is provided on its underside with a lateral projection G<1> which bears against the underside of one guide rail and which when the batten is fully extended, turns a weighted member H pivoted to the guide rail into position to support the hinged leaf. In a modification, the weighted members H are pivoted to the side frame of the table, and are turned into position to support the hinged leaf by gravity only.
