[Class 52 (iii).] In a table of the kind comprising folding end leaves hinged to a central top part, each leg is fitted at its inner end with a rail on which are tubular metal telescopic guides. Fig. 3 shows the underside of a table consisting of a central part A, two end leaves B, B<1> hinged to it, and legs C<1> connected in pairs by rails c. The parts C<1>, c on the right are shown drawn out as if to support the leaf B<1> ; those on the left are shown pushed under the part A, but the leaf B is shown horizontal. Each leg C<1> is fitted at its upper end with a horizontal rail D which telescopes into a casing E, and each ra.il D has on its upper edge a tubular metal guide d which telescopes over tubular metal guides a fixed to the underside of the central part A of the table top ; similar guides b are attached to the undersides of the leaves B, B<1>, and the guides d move over them as the leg frames are drawn out. The positions of the parts a, d &c. may be reversed, the inner parts being on the legs, and the outer ones on the leaves ; alternatively, they may be on the sides of the parts D, E. The leaves A, B, B<1> are stiffened by battens b<1> on their undersides.
