Abstract

338,785. Fain, W. C. Jan. 1, 1930. Cabinets.-A set of furniture consisting of a seat and a table, or a plurality of seats and tables, is designed to be folded away in a cabinet. Fig. 3 shows a cabinet 6 with opened doors 8, a table 10 foldable against the back 2 of the cabinet and two seats 34, one attached to each door. The inner end of the table top 10 has a pivot rod 12 which slides down, in inclined guides 16, as the top is moved from the horizontal to the folded position. In the horizontal position the top is supported by hinged inclined struts 18 and vertical hinged legs 24; these are connected by a rod 28. Each seat consists of a seat proper 34, with legs 36, 38 hinged to its underside; the inner legs 38 are attached to the door 8 by links 50, and support the seat 34 when it is turned down. As the seat is turned up, its pivots 48 move in the slotted . brackets 44, and the feet of the legs 38 are lifted from the floor. The rear outer leg 36 has an extension 60 supporting a hinged rail 62.
