Abstract
381,640. Toboggan slides. WALLACE, T., Passion Dock Place, Carlisle Street, Manningham, Bradford. July 31, 1931, No. 21854. [Class 132 (i).] An inclined toboggan slide comprises a number of sections 4, 5, 6, Fig. 1, hinged or otherwise jointed so as to allow them to be folded or nested together when not in use, an ascending ladder 1 hinged to the upper section, a landing stage 2, and side guards 3 adapted to fold downwards. The slide sections may be straight or curved. The ascending ladder may be made extensible as shown in Fig. 9, being clamped between two side bars 17 with guideplates 18. In the extended position, a short ladder section 19 is inserted at the bottom, and the bars 17 may be bolted to a hinged base member 21. The side guards 3 are held by bolts and wing-nuts 16 and are held in notches at the sides of the landing stage. Intermediate support for the slide may be provided in the form of an extensible pedestal 11 and ties 12.
