Abstract

505,813. Temporary bridge for use at cross-roads. YASSIN, I. B. July 26, 1938, No. 22271. [Classes 20 (i) and 107] A portable bridge structure, primarily intended for temporary use at cross-roads, comprises a number of sections 8 ... 11, each carried by a truck 16 whereby it can be wheeled into position, the sections when in position being secured together and the weight thereof being transferred from the trucks to the ground. The bridge shown spans a main road 1 and is of sufficient width to provide passage for two lines of traffic proceeding towards the branches of a secondary road 3. The end sections are carried by arched supports 15 and the inner sections by uprights 18, 19. In a modification, the bridge is formed of two sections and is so constructed that the two traffic lanes, one at each end, for ascending traffic extend beyond the lanes for descending traffic.
