Abstract

538,860. Road-surface markings. JACKSON, ELPHICK & CO., Ltd., and JACKSON, J. July 4, 1940, No. 11225. [Class 87 (i) A road-surface marking comprises a metallic casting 1 with an inlaid upper surface 2 of vitreous enamel, and with integral stud-like anti-skid excrescences 3 distributed over its upper surface and flush with the enamel. Preferably, perforations 8 are provided for the release of trapped air, the excrescences 3 being in the form of annular ridges bounding these perforations. The casting 1 is provided with peripheral flanges 4 or ribs and with prong-like legs 5, and is adapted to be set into a road with the enamel flush with the road surface.
