Abstract

420,395. Tables and desks. FRENCH, H. D., 91a, Chatsworth Road, Clapton, London. Aug. 4, 1933, No. 21938. [Class 52 (iii)] A desk or table 1 has a rising and falling platform 4 slidable in inclined guideways 3 at the side of the desk or table, and a movable top 2 which is connected by a pivoted link 9 to the fixed portion of the desk. The rising platform 4 is supported on triangular brackets 5 and the front edges 6 of the triangles align with the runways 3 and are supported by projecting blocks 7. A lever 12 pivoted at 13 to the fixed portion of the desk, engages the underpart of the platform by a roller 15 and is pivoted to the movable desk top 2 so that upon movement of the desk top to a position at the side and within the well of the desk, the platform is raised by the roller end of the lever.
