Abstract

358,976. Tables and desks. WATTS (SHEFFIELD & LONDON), Ltd., J. and WATTS, J. R., Lambert Street, Sheffield. July 12, 1930, No. 21142. [Class 52 (iii).] In a folding table, the hinged parts are connected by joints providing a friction grip as described in Specification 298,747, [Class 141, Wearing apparel]. The Figure shows an underside view of a bed-table consisting of a top 5 and side or end supports 6 connected to it by hinged joints 7, 12 of the kind referred to. The central part 13 of the top is also hinged in the same manner to form a book rest; when turned down, its corners are supported by strips 18. The front edge of the top 5 is fitted with leaf holders 15 in a strip &c. 16. In a modification, the rivet-like spindles 10 of the hinges are replaced by bolts and nuts, preferably lock-nuts.
