Abstract

399,118. Tables. HOWE, H., 1, Park Avenue, New York, U.S.A. April 20, 1933, No. 11512. [Class 52 (iii).] A pedestal table has hinged leaves simultaneously extended by gearing. The Figure shows the underside of a table comprising a pedestal 1 supporting a square top 6 and four leaves 20 on hinges 19. On the underside is a spring catch 14 which engages with one of two notches 10, 11 in a flange 3 which together with the pedestal 1 may be rotated relatively to the top 6, causing the arms 21 to move, inward or outward, the links 23 and the leaves 20, to which the links are connected by hinges 22. In a modification the top 6 is connected rigidly to the pedestal 1 ; the flange 3 is on a sleeve rotatable on the pedestal.
