Abstract
224,201. Piguet, M., (Assignee of Morel, S.). Oct. 31, 1923, [Convention date]. Nap, raising.- The cloth passes over a fixed bed of felt k<1> covered with thick cloth and is acted upon by two rollers l, m driven in the same direction, the roller l covered with carding serving to feed the cloth, while the nap is raised by bristles carried by the more rapidly revolving roller m. The carding or fabric carrying the bristles may be wound helically on the rollers and secured in position. The rollers are pivotally mounted so that they may be moved into inoperative position as shown in Fig. 5. The height of the roller m and hence the degree of teaseling is controlled by a bascule h adjusted by a screw i. Portions of the cloth can be left unteaseled by raising the roller m clear of the cloth by a handle g<4>.
