Abstract

225,950. Pearson, A. Sept. 15, 1923. Milling.-In milling, scouring, and'like machines in which fabric is treated in rope form, mill rigging is prevented by causing the drafts of fabrics to pass in contact with one or more rollers having right and left hand square screw threads which cause the folds of fabric to be opened out temporarily. The roller or rollers may have a number of alternate right and left hand square threads in accordance with the number of drafts, and they may be rotated by the fabric or be driven relatively thereto. Fig. 2 shows a roller for use in a four-draft scouring- machine.
