Abstract
165,525. Park, J. H. March 27, 1920. Pile, raising. - A machine for raising pile or nap on fabrics as a whole or on particular parts only, has a rapidly revolving carding-roller B and a slowly moving plain roller A, mounted in end frames a and geared together by worm gearing F. A feedregulating roller E, mounted between side links d pivoted on the end frames at e, is normally pressed on the large roller A by springs j so that the fabric is nipped between the two rollers and is retarded against the forward pull of the carding-roller B. The roller E may be raised by a link f connected to a treadle, when the carding-roller may draw the fabric through at its own peripheral speed without raising nap. The carding-roller may be adjusted up or down to suit different fabrics by a handle v.
