Abstract
203,764. Hunt, G., and Campion, C. W. June 10, 1922. Shaping and stretching tubular goods upon internal frames; calendering. - In devices for stretching and finishing tubular fabrics, of the kind described in Specifications 110,742 and 122,603, the fabric is fed from the stretching- device to the calendering- rollers G, G<1> by driven rollers C adapted to press the fabric against the upper and lower shields A and driven rollers L pressing the edges of the fabric against antifriction rollers K arranged on the fabricextending arms J. The rollers L may be grooved. The rollers C, L are driven bv chain and sprocket gearing from the first pair of calendering-rollers. The fabric is fed between the pairs of calendering-rollers by endless aprons T passing over idle rollers Y which are mounted for horizontal and vertical adjustment. Spring pressed plates X are arranged between pairs of rollers to keep the aprons close together. After leaving the aprons, the fabric may pass between polished heated driven rollers to winding-rollers.
