423,177. Calendering fabrics. HUNT, C., and HUNT, B., 52, Bernard Street, Notting- ham. July 26, 1933, No. 21010. [Class 42 (i)] A tubular fabric is fed between the vertical press plates A, B of a calendar and over a stretcher plate T by two endless aprons E, F which pass between the fabric and the plates. The apron rollers J, M are adjustable and others, e.g. G, K are intermittently driven in synchronism with the opening of the plates A, B by a motor N and a clutch Q, Q<1> under the control of a cam S. The frame T carrying the stretcher plate T is kept in position by two rollers U which may be rotated to help feed the fabric by variable speed belt gearing from the roller G.
