Abstract

1,206,989. Pressing leather. STROJOSVIT, NARODNI PODNIK. Aug.6, 1968 [Aug. 7, 1967], No.37406/68. Heading C6C. Leather is pressed, while being fed continuously by endless belts 5, 7 over an arcuate supporting surface of a support 3, by a driven roller 9 supported in vertically sliding journals 8 acted on by a hydraulic ram 10. The belt 5 is driven by a motor 13 via roller 4 and the belt 7 is driven by motor 13 via roller 6, the leather being supported either on the belt 7 or between the two belts. In the former case, a patterned surface may be produced on the hide by suitably forming the surface of the cylinder. The cylinder may comprise means for heating it, and is driven by the motor 13 which drives the belts.
