Abstract

215,883. Patterson, A. R. March 5, 1923. Fire-bars. - A fire-bar is provided with a longitudinal channel 1 which is filled with fire-clay or other refractory material or ashes, vertical holes or tubular passages being provided in the fire-clay &c. and extending to the upper surface of the bar and into transverse air passages 2 arranged below the channel 1. The bottom of the passages 2 may be horizontal or in the form of a ridge. The fire-clay may be moulded and baked in situ in the channel 1.
