Abstract

226,726. Follows, S. J., and Clewlow, J. April 28, 1924. Fuel-economizers consist of front and rear fireclay blocks 1, 2 detachably fitted together, the rear block, a front view of which is shown in Fig. 5, having a flange 8 which rests on the grate, and an air passage 11 extending from an opening 10 below, the flange to branches 12, 13 which terminate in flues 14 extending above the top of the block. The front block is formed with a passage 4 for the gases extending upwardly from the bottom of the front and communicating at the top with the passages 12, 13, together with holes 5 extending upwardly from the front face to the passage 4.
