288,668. General Electric Co., Ltd., Warren, W. W., and Hyslop, J. F. Dec. 13, 1926. Glass furnaces; linings and walls.-In a tank furnace for glass manufacture built up of refractory blocks, the latter are formed with one face inclined to an horizontal base and are assembled so that their inclined faces form the inner walls of the tank. Figs. 1 and 2 illustrate the construction of tank furnaces for the manufacture of light and heavy glasses respectively, the side walls being, in the former case, inclined outwardly at 3 and, in the latter case, inwardly at 7. In both constructions the lower parts 5, 9 of the walls adjacent the floors 4, 8 are vertical.
