Bricks, special shapes of.-To enable the blocks 22, 23, forming a furnace arch, to be readily attached to and detached from the supporting beams 15, 16, they are formed at their upper ends with cut-away portions 24, undercut recesses 25 and vertical clearance spaces 27. The blocks are supported by sliding hangers 19 having projecting ears to engage in the recesses 25, the clearance spaces 27 being of sufficient width to permit attachment and detachment of a block without sliding the hanger out of the space normally occupied by the block.
