Abstract
232,485. Siemens, F. C. Sept. 6, 1924. Ingot tracks.-Water-cooled tracks for ingots are formed of a number of inverted U-shaped sections, the horizontal track portions a of which are supported clear of the floor d by the. vertical limbs b. The sections may be formed by making loops in a continuous tube, or as shown in Fig. 1 separate inverted U-pieces formed by connectors f may be used. The sections preferably overlap one another, and the horizontal portions may all be parallel to the length of the furnace, or may be parallel to one another and at an angle to the length of the furnace, or as shown in Fig. 3 adjacent sections may be at an angle to one another and to the length of the furnace.
