Abstract
348,057. Wall structures. HARROP CERAMIC SERVICE CO., 310, West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio, U.S.A. Jan. 28, 1930, No. 2896. Convention date, Dec. 2, 1929. [Class 20 (iv).] A wall structure, particularly for furnaces, comprises horizontal courses of stretcher and header bricks 1, 2 and spaced vertical bonding elements in the upper portion of the wall. These elements 3, 4, 5 comprise superposed blocks which, in the case shown, are arranged between the inner and outer surfaces of the wall. They are preferably of double the depth of the bricks 1, 2, and their joints are out of alignment with the horizontal joints of the bricks. Further, the joints of adjacent bonding elements are out of alignment. Skew blocks 7 supporting the roof structure 10 are formed with depending projections 8 that interlock with the vertical bonding elements.
