Abstract

212,332. Stafford, L. K. Dec. 18, 1922. Thrust bearings, oil retaining.-In a journalbox as described in Specification 177,656, the roller thrust bearing is replaced by a flanged thrust hood 66 on the end of the axle 61 and a hardened plate 59 in the end cap 58. Removable rings 57 permit adjustment between the cap 58 and the hood 66, and split spring rings 65 in a ring 64 prevent lubricant leakage.
