25,220. Bick, N. Nov. 29. Axle-boxes, lubricating.-Relates to means for lubricating the axle-boxes of wagons, trucks, &c. The axle-box is formed with an annular chamber to contain lubricant which is carried to the journal by the ring r. The ring works in a slot in the centre of the axle-box, and is guided by the arms i, l, Fig. 2. The ring is made in two parts, as shown in Fig. 4, and is inserted through the hole n, which is afterwards closed.
