Induction pipes; fittings for.-A valve a for admitting extra air to the induction pipe is provided with a lever c adapted to be moved to open position by a spring d, the lever c projecting into the path of, and being controlled by an arm h on the ignition control rod g in such a manner that, as the arm h is moved from the position x to the position z to advance the spark, the air valve (1) remains closed until the position y is reached, (2) gradually opens until the position shown in full lines is reached, (3) remains fully open when the arm h is moved to the position z.
