Abstract

262,921. Armishaw, W., and Bailey, H. A. Dec. 1, 1925. valves.-In order to minimize the deteriorating effect of the hot gases on the valve stem, particularly of exhaust valves, a freely movable sleeve b is fitted to the stem between the valve head and guide. The sleeve may be fitted with vanes e, or may be grooved, so as to be rotated by the flow of gases. The sleeve may merely slide on the. stem without rotating.
