Abstract

387,058. Valves. PERKINS, Ltd., F., 17, Queen Street, Peterborough, and PERKINS, F. A., Old Vicarage, Whitstable, Kent. Nov. 7, 1931, No. 30933. [Class 7 (vi).] In an engine having inlet and exhaust controlled by a single poppet valve 30, the inlet passage 21 is further controlled by a subsidiary valve 35 slidably mounted on the stem of the valve 30. The valve 35 is in the form of a pressed steel cone with a flat outer flange 37 bearing on a flat seat 34 above the valve 30. Specifications 19765/14 and 277,872, [both in Class 7 (vi), Internal-combustion engines, Valves &c. for], are referred to.
