Abstract

250,095. Tosi, E. Aug. 26, 1925. Valves; valve gear.-In a Diesel engine having a single valve V controlling both air-admission and exhaust, these two functions are further separately controlled by coaxial beat valves V<a> and V<8> respectively closed in opposite directions by springs m<1> and m and opened by means of a single lever L, which is provided with a roller r engaging a grooved cam S oscillated by an eccentric E on the main cam shaft. In modifications. the valves are closed by a single spring arranged around the stem of the valve V<8> and within a hollow cylindrical portion formed on the stem of the valve V<a>, and the lever L is actuated directly by grooved or positive cam gear on the main cam shaft.
