Abstract

382,670. Cylinders ; valve mechanism. KEGRESSE, A., 156, Rue Armand Silvestre, Courbevoie, France. July 31, 1931, No. 21931. Convention date, Aug. 9, 1930. [Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (vi).] Inlet chambers 10 in the upper ends of two cylinders communicate with one another to form a common inlet chamber closed by the cylinder head and supplying the cylinders around the whole circumference. Sleeve valves 2 which seat against the cylinder head control admission of combustible mixture from the inlet chamber 10. They may be actuated by toothed engagement at 4 with a cam-actuated lever 8. A spring 9 tends to maintain the sleeve seated. The chamber 10 may be formed partly in the cylinder head as shown.
