Abstract

343,688. Valve gear. MORRIS, E. E. and MORRIS, T. E., Manorfields, Leesons, Chislehurst, Kent. Jan. 13, 1930, No. 1170. [Class 7 (vi).] Positively-acting cam gear comprises a cam having three projections b and engaging a stirrup rocker c, an arm g on which engages the valve stem. The cam is rotated at 1/6 speed for four-stroke engines, and 1/3 speed for two-stroke engines. The valve-closing surface e of the rocker is larger than the valve-opening surface f, which may be in the form of a roller. In the valve-closing direction, the area g acts on the valve through a spring l. Regulating.-The roller f may be adjusted by means of a sliding block o and screw m.
