Abstract

294,427. Alessio, E. R. d'. Dec. 15, 1927. Valve gear.-Valves A. B are actuated by rockers D and grooved cams N, closing of the valves being ensured by blade springs R which are pivoted at S to projections T on the rockers and arranged so as to be clear of projections V on the other arms of the rockers when the valves are open, but to bear on these projections V at the moment of closing of the valves. The free ends of the springs R slide between members H attached to the valve stems, and pins Q carried by the members H. The pivot pins S of the springs may be eccentrically mounted for adjustment. Regulating.-Metal shims of varying thickness may be inserted between the end of the valve stem and a hardened cap placed over such end.
